Look what Christine sent me! It was totally unexpected. Thanks so much. See what she wrote about me!

“Fluffy- Knitter extraordinaries! She says that she is up the creek without a paddle but I say she has both paddles in the water plus we both like Pavarotti. I would love to spend an afternoon with you. We could knit and listen to music and talk about books and old movies. Plus I love her cats…they crack me up!”
I have been such a cranky person today. It really lifted my spirits. Both hips have been bothering me today. I know exactly where all the new parts are in my right hip today. They seem——-cold? It’s hard to explain. My left hip has been having sympathy pains. So, I’m a bit grumpy. Even though I wanted to smack her, I managed to smile at the clerk at Walmart today. She has no idea how lucky she is. Then we went to the bread store and there were no bagels. I had just bought cream cheese people! So I bought English muffins. It’s just not the same. And they didn’t have Oatnut bread AGAIN! I wanted to go home and stick my head in the toilet. So. How was your day?
Zippo suggested a little sewing. He was right of course. Now, I just have put on the binding.
Maude enjoyed hiding in the cover.
Sorry about this one. I was on the phone.

I will send out my awards tomorrow. Hopefully, I’ll be in a better mood.

Suzette is off to Cancun today for a month of warmth and sun. I meant to ask her if she would take Elvis with her, but I forgot. Sorry, El. She’s done this every year since she retired. I don’t know if I could do that. I would have to take so much stuff.
- Yarn, needles, etc., for at least three projects.
- Sewing machine, fabric, etc.
- Three or four books, not paperbacks.
- Gus so I would have a reason to go for a walk.
- Elvis because he like sun and warmth and he would kill me if I didn’t.
- Maude because I would miss her too much.
- Zippo because he would cry his eyeballs out.
- Myuushi because I couldn’t leave him all alone even if he says he wouldn’t mind.
- Doug to feed the animals.
First we had rain, then snow and now it’s raining again.
Can you see the ducks on the other side in the water?
Maude was SOOO bored!
My table runner is almost done. I am not happy with it. I’ll probably feel better when its done. I really should be working on tree. Maybe later. I went shopping on line for yarn. I know I need more yarn like a hole in my head, but my Noro Kureyon gloves can’t take another repair. I found Kureyon Sock Yarn in the same colorway. I bought two for gloves and socks. The store also had free shipping with no minimum purchase. I was happy.

It was on PBS last night. I hadn’t seen it in many years. It was funnier than I remembered. What were you doing when it first came out? Wait a minute. Were you even alive? I forget sometimes how old I am. I was married to a man who was trying to drive me insane. He did like movies so I probably saw it with him. Anyway, I know what happened with the male actors, but not the females. There were four that looked familiar. I recognized their names, but I have no idea what happened to them. I will have to look them up. Ah, research! What did I do before I had a computer?
I am a bit pookie today. My cold is still there and i am not happy. I know I don’t have bronchitis. Been there. Done that. I just wish it would go away. We rode down to the supermarket in Laurel. They carry the tuna the cats like and we got some treats for Elvis. How do you spend $100 when you feel like a zombie? I bought some bananas and grapes. I almost bought oranges before realizing that I still had some.
Maude took my advice and went to bed at 8PM last night. Zippo had to find other accommodations.
He was still mad this morning.

For the past two nights, Zippo has gone to bed early in Maude’s favorite sleeping place–the dirty clothes basket. What could be better than Mom’s dirty underwear? She looked so sad. I told her she should go to bed sooner, but she said Zippo had ruined the flavor. When I went to bed, I laid my clothes on the settee. She curled up on them and went to sleep.
The hat is finished. I am glad that I decided to add another row of squares. It made the hole bigger, but I just did a few more rows of decreases before starting the I-cord. I like it much more than the last one. Speaking of which, I started the gloves last night.
I have already decided to take this out and make a swatch on size 2’s. This rib is a tad too loose for me. I worked on the back of the table runner, but I was getting frustrated. I couldn’t think straight. Or was it that I could think straight when I needed to think diagonally? Zippo was no help.

I had to take Sweetums to Lewes this morning to have a polyp removed. Poor baby. I am so good to him. I even got up a 5AM to mix his last cocktail for him. Then I went back to bed until 8AM. Well, you know. I had to drive. I needed my rest. When we got there, I sat with him for about 15 minutes. I didn’t want to eat in front of him so I rode over to Rehobeth Beach and had breakfast. After doing a little shopping, he called and said he was done. Snow was starting to fall and I really wanted to get home. We live about 45 minutes away. This is only the second time that it has snowed since we moved to Delaware. I know how to handle my vehicle, but I don’t trust others.

The cats had a great time. Little Maude was out the longest. The Myuush went out, walked around and came back in. Zippo spent a long time cleaning his fur. I asked him if he would like a haircut, but he said no, thank you very much.
I finally finished my Equilateral Vest. The yarn I used was heavier and I had to change needle size. Thanks to Lucy Neatby’s instructions, I had no trouble with gauge and the size was right on. I really like her patterns.

Well, I tried to post Thursday and Friday, but I had elephant fingers and couldn’t hit a single key right. I couldn’t even take decent pictures. I wanted to show off my favorite gadget. I forgot about the flash but you can still see. I don’t see how I managed to make all those pies all those years without it.

Doug did his best, but the cats kept him down.

My old man is feeling better. He hardly sneezed at all last night and he even went out into the front yard this afternoon. It is full of pine trees and a great place to do what needs to be done. He does not care for standard time. By the time he gets around to sunbathing on the deck, there is only about one hour of sun left.
I can’t decide what to do with my daughter’s tunic. I do not have enough yarn. I had substituted yarn, but I do that often. I reran my calculations and I still should have had a ball left over. I do have more of this yarn in three other colors so I am going to take all of it back with me. There are a few options that we can go with so I want Jenn to decide which idea she likes best. It is so aggravating. The pattern was in a magazine that I was unfamiliar with, but Jenn really liked the design. In case you are wandering, my gauge has been right on.

I took Elvis to the vet today. It took both of us to get him in the carrier. By the way, Elvis is a 17 year old cat who has never been sick a day in his life. He says it is because he does not believe in jumping or running. The end of my son’s bunk bed has scars to prove it. Elvis and his siplings were bottle kittens. I always fed Elvis last because I could put him on my bed while I fed the others and he wouldn’t go anywhere. Now, he is the only one left. He ain’t no dummy. He got a shot of penicillin and liquid antibiotics to take. He peed on the way home. My cat carriers all have thick fleece pads that I made so there was no real mess. Elvis, however, was embarrassed and hid under the bookcase until after the others had eaten. I hope Doug will be able to give him his medicine when I go back to Reisterstown for a few days. If not, I will have to take him with me. That means no stops for me along the way.
