Putting Winter Away

May 30, 2016

I finally managed to switch my Summer and Winter clothes.  I was beginning to wonder if we were having a mini ice age.  Last week we actually had the heat on and the air on by the end of it.  It’s a wonder I don’t have a cold.  And now…it’s raining again.  I think it’s causing me to lose my mind.  I put eggs on to boil this afternoon and I completely forgot  about them.  Rubber eggs anyone?

I have made good progress with my squares.  I’m starting on four bonus blocks.  I am not making the last block.  It is all embroidery and I’m not in the mood.  I saved it in case I change my mind.  I hope to start the BOM from Australia that I joined later this week.  The fabrics are different from any that I have seen around here.  Once these are current, I have a December wall hanging to finish.  If it’s not Winter by then, there are my pants that have no pockets.  I don’t understand it.

I forgot to show the back of my new hat.  I really like this one.

And, there’s nothing like cat help.

After Sheep & Wool

May 18, 2016

I was lucky to have my daughter with me this year.  She doesn’t have to work on Saturdays anymore.  Even though we got there early, we had about a two-mile creep-along.  The weather was almost perfect.  We had had rain the day before and some areas were a little mushy.  I like to start at the Main Hall where I bought some Signature Needles.  They carry seven-inch single points.  Now I own every size they carry.  They are great for miters and shells.  Miss Babs was mobbed by the time we got there.  I wanted to this year’s show color.  Neither one of us cared for it.  Quite frankly, it looked something my dog threw up.  Jenn saw some Yowza she liked, but the line was so long even she didn’t want to wait.  We decided to look on-line instead.  We had lamb BBQ from the boy scouts.  It was very good.  I saw some old and new friends.  The last thing we did was get ice cream cones. A perfect way to end the day.

Two skeins of sock yarn caught my eye this year.  The only yarn I bought last year was from Beth Brown-Reinsel.  I am really getting picky.  I need more yarn like I need a third eye.  That third eye would probably make me nauseous anyway.  I also have no need of buttons, but they are purple and yellow, green and orange.  What’s not to love?  I decided to try some new soap.  The woman I usually buy soap from broke her foot and I’m getting low.  I also bought a few ornaments and a pin from Liz.
