All is Forgiven

July 6, 2010

This morning, she talked to Skunky and carried him around the house.  When it was time for ‘cafe au lait’ (minus the cafe), she brought him in to have some.

I have got about six rows of squares to go on the second sock.  I want to go on t o something else.  It’s too hot to do anything big, so I’m thinking gloves.

Been Busy

June 28, 2010

It’s been too hot to do much of anything outside this weekend.  We took Gus for his walk first thing in the morning and spent the rest of the day inside working in the yarn room.  I looked into every bag and box.  Now, I’ve got two more bags to give to Goodwill and five for  my friends if they want any of it.  I still have more than I’ll use in my lifetime, but it’s too nice to give away.  I may put some of it on Ravelry, but I’m not ready for that decision.  Maybe after the room is finished.

Flo was not helpful.  As a matter of fact, she said we were bothering her.

I have finished one sock.  It’s been fun.  I changed a couple of things including making a shorter leg.

Little Flo

May 31, 2010

Last week, she was gone for 48 hours.  Doug and I were devastated.  She is a personality plus kitty.  I keep telling her she is just a little tabby cat and of little import so she decided to go for a walk.  Little brat.  A male cat had been coming around and managed to herd her away.  She is a very friendly cat and if the other cat’s owner did something like offer her some milk, she would have walked right in.  She also likes to help the neighbor take in her groceries.  If the other people tried to keep her in, they probably let her out because she drove them crazy.  When she came home, she was so happy.  She ran around the yard playing with the other cats, even Dot whom she hates, but that’s another story.  Later, she played with Skunky for a long time.  She went to bed early and got up late.

Yeah. I Know.

It has been so beautiful all week.  By the time I was ready to blog, I was too tired to think.

My daughter came by last Sunday afternoon and brought me this great gift.  It’s a bird house by Jim Shore, but I have no intention to hang it outside.  My son-in-law had taken his ’67 Camaro to Cruising Ocean City.

I’ve been working on this sweater all week.  I took this picture this afternoon.  It’s finally starting to look like something.

Well, I gotta go.  Hell  Boy II is on.  Maybe I’ll talk about Dot next time or why Flo is making us crazy.

Up A Creek in Springtime

April 3, 2010

Is there a mouse under there?

Flo is watching the geese.  What is she going to do when she sees the new baby geese in a few weeks.

Doug spent the day reading and I got some knitting accomplished while enjoying the sun.

Is Spring Coming?

March 8, 2010

It was 55 degrees when we went for a walk this morning.  I wore a light sweater and no gloves and a cotton sunhat.  I was happy.  We’ve been able to walk down to the river for the past few days, but the trails at the horse farm are a mess.  They are almost impossible to walk on.  There are also several trees down in the woods and we have to make a detour to get through.  The owner is in Florida for the winter so we will have to deal with it until May.  I wish that I had brought my camera.

Maybe I’ll be able to put these away soon.  Flo won’t be happy.  She likes  ‘her’ sweaters.

Another Top

March 2, 2010

I hope that I am not boring you with the sewing, but I am trying to accomplish something.  After my dissatisfaction with the way that 2009 went, I am now trying to make up for it by completing projects.  Projects can be anything from a single piece of fabric to twenty skeins of yarn bought specifically for a sweater.   This will, however, be my last knitted item.  I am really getting tired of chasing around knits that refuse to hold still and will be working with nice, quiet, woven cottons for a while.  I  was thinking about making a Pointy Kitty if I can find the pattern again.  I think I saved it somewhere.  I really like having a computer to keep ‘stuff’, but I have been known to spend an afternoon looking through folders for the right file.  It is a continuing saga of trying to drive myself crazy.  After all, who knows better how to do it than me?

First Day Out

February 12, 2010

Flo and Olive went out for the first time this morning.  They were only out for a few minutes.

Cora was out for a lot longer.  She has very thick fur and cold doesn’t affect her much.

There was only one lonely duck this morning.

And Again with the Snow

February 11, 2010

Last night, it sounded like rain, but it was freezing.  This morning, it started to snow.  Now it’s impossible to tell how much snow we had, it’s blowing so hard.  Jenn called around noon.  They had around a foot.  She says only emergency vehicles are allowed out.  He doubts anything will be open tomorrow either.  Cora went out a few times, then gave up.

Flo spent the day watching the birds.  Doug had put out some birdseed at the cellar door under the deck.  She was fascinated.

I was planning to sew today.  I’m making a night-shirt, robe and tunic.  Instead, I found another pair of jeans that need alteration.  I liked this little cat for them.  I thought it was right.

Why Do Knitters like Cats?
