Good-bye Suzette

Look at that smile!

I’ll really miss it.

I like to imagine her and her buddy, Colette, having fun together again.

What Am I Doing?

November 18, 2011

Well… I headed over the bridge last Sunday.  I went to the cemetery and decorated for Christmas.  He always enjoyed Christmas.  Nanny and Pop are nearby and they get decorated, too.  The weather was very pleasant this year so I stayed for a while.  I talked to them and had a good cry.  Every year, I am drawn here and I leave feeling so much better.  I don’t know exactly how to put it.  It is something I have to do.  I drove back to Reisterstown through the country.  Some of those roads, I hadn’t been on in years.  It was pretty dark by the time I got back.

Monday was ‘Girls Day Out’.  It was decided to meet at the Corner Stable in Cockeysville due to its central location.  This was fine with me since there’s a JoAnn’s there.  I was not very happy with the cramped space and had the waitress remove the useless crap from the table before I “accidentally” knocked it on to the floor.  There was very little of interest on the menu.  I settled on a shrimp salad sandwich with cole slaw.  The menu mentioned Old Bay, but I think they just showed it the can.  It was bland with entirely too much mayonnaise.  The lettuce was too tough to eat.  That said, I really did have a good time.  It is always great seeing everyone.

Girls Day Out

November 10, 2009

I went up to Reisterstown this morning.  It was time for our semi-annual get together.  There were five of us this time.  I was looking for Agnes, but she never showed up.  The Powers That Be have changed the road and put in a couple of those stupid round about things.  I understand the by-pass, but the other is down right ridiculous.  Two of the “girls” got completely turned and we were beginning to think they weren’t coming.  All in all we had a great time and I didn’t get back to the house until 430.  My son came home from work about 5 and we went out to eat.  Afterwards, we went shopping for clothes for work.  A Mom’s got to do what a Mom’s got to do.  I bought him a blender.  I don’t have much use for mine, but it’s not a separate unit.  Now I am going to try to do some knitting before bed.

New Cat on the Block

October 9, 2009

It was almost too cool to sit on the deck and knit today.  I am almost up to the toe.  Maybe I’ll finish them tomorrow.  I’m a little depressed today.  A friend’s husband is not doing well.  I’m trying to be non-committal here.

I decided to call Agnes and invite her to Girls Day Out next month.  We had  a good chat and I felt much better for having called her.  She is going to meet me at my house in Reisterstown.  Hopefully, June will be able to come, too.  Since Diana reads my blog(and NEVER comments), I won’t have to e-mail her.

100609 023This guy has been coming by the last couple of days.  Well, he may be a her.  At first I was thinking abandoned cat, but when Gus barked at him, he headed for the recently rented house.  I felt better.  He seems to be fascinated with the water.  He likes to go down the steps at my bulkhead at low tide.  He stays down there for several minutes.  I’ve never seen any of my cats do that.

OK.  Back to knitting.  I am hoping to wear them tomorrow evening.

Girls Day Out

May 1, 2009

There was seven  of us this time.  We had a great time.  We ran our mouths for about three hours.  We were loud and other diners were probably not happy about it, but we were oblivious.  Joan went back part-time and I heard they begged  my old supervisor to come back.  Someone said the office has gone from one of the best in the nation to one of the worst.  And I thought it sucked big time when I was working.

Tomorrow is Sheep and Wool so I am trying to have a quiet evening.  It’s supposed to rain, so there will be plenty of wet crowds to deal with.  I hope the pin lady brings some good pins this year because I was not impressed with anything she had last year.  According to Ravelry last night, over four hundred members said they were coming including.  I just hope I remember to head over to the rabbit house at noon.  I also hope that I remember to take my camera.  My neighbor doesn’t believe me that giant Angora rabbits exist.

Girls Day Out

November 10, 2008

I just got back from our semi-annual get together.  As usual, we had a great time.  Pat retired and has joined our little group.  She and I started at the VA on the same day, but she stayed until this year.  I really enjoy these ‘get togethers’ and I’m really happy that Diana always tries to coordinate them for when she knows I’ll be in town.  I’d come anyway, but don’t tell her that.

Carolyn asked if anyone wanted a kitten and I said yes knowing that any kitten from her would be special.  I’ve been wanting another one since The Myuush died last February.  This one is calico and likes to play with other cats.  She sounds perfect to me.  I would have followed Carolyn home, but the kitten belongs to a friend of hers and she has to call her and get approval.  I am leaving here Wednesday or Thursday and I really don’t want to leave without her.  I know little Maude would love her.  Zip’s nose will be out of joint for a while.  I’ll have to tell him that he is still the baby no matter what.  I am not even certain that Elvis would notice. I was so tired last night that I didn’t even knit.  I was “knitted out”.  I went to bed early and woke up at 7AM.

This computer is getting weird again.  I’ll try again tomorrow.
