I have had several whoopers the past month so I dragged myself to the doctor. He sent me off to get an MRI and now I have to see a neurologist. Needless to say, I am not happy.
Migraines
July 4, 2015I Like to Make Bias Tape
June 17, 2015I decided to make another slip. The one I had made last month only needed minor tweaking to be ‘just right.’ Lucky for me, whenever a pattern calls for bias tape, I make it myself. It’s just that I make entirely too much. What can I say? It’s just plain fun! But it certainly is handy for things like hat bands and slip straps. It gives a little pizazz to otherwise everyday items.
A New Collar for the Pup
June 13, 2015
The latch broke. I can’t complain. The old one was over ten years old. Actually, it’s a blessing. I noticed his name tag was too worn down to read. Now he has a new collar and tag in case he gets lost. He’s a little tired now. He had to show it off to all his friends. He thinks he’s beautiful.
My projects have not been going smoothly this past week. I’m not certain whether I had three migraine headaches or a three-day migraine headache. My head was so full of mush.
Fiddly Stuff
June 8, 2015
I’ve mended nighties. I’ve taken in skirts and pants. I’ve added pockets where there were none. I don’t know about you, but I have got to have phone pockets.
Now that that is over, it’s time for real sewing. Since one nightie was tossed, I need another. After digging through my stash, I came up with some insipid pink that I have no idea from where it came. It is cotton, two yards long and 68 inches wide. It’ll do. Maybe I’ll put some embroidery on it. And, yeah, it’ll have pockets.
A Surprise from Sweetums
June 7, 2015Blue Denim Socks
May 31, 2015
Since I own about a dozen pair of blue jeans, knitting these made sense. The yarn is Crystal Palace Panda Soy. I would have liked to have made a more elaborate pattern, but the yarn said “No”. It consists of four very loosely spun threads that were definitely out to get me. I finally gave in and did a simple three one rib. The socks feel great on my feet and they are machine washable.
I dragged out some yarn that must be at least ten years old a couple of weeks ago. So far, I’ve taken my work apart twice. It wasn’t right. I didn’t like it. It was boring. Today, I am going a completely different route. If I am still dissatisfied, I’m going to get rid of the yarn. Because it is out to get me.
Taking A Picture of My Cat
May 17, 2015Recuperating After MD Sheep &Wool
May 12, 2015The older I get, the longer it takes to do anything. I’ve been home for a week and I still haven’t finished unpacking. I also need to send some pictures and show you my purchases. To make matters worse, just when the bursitis was getting better, I got the worse migraine headache ever and I’m still in a bit of a fog.
My classes with Beth Brown-Reinsel were absolutely fabulous. I like her teaching methods and the history lesson that accommodates every class. Knowing the origins of the many types of knitting is very enjoyable for me.
Of course the tiny sweaters are great, too.
Any of you get Beth’s newsletter? When I opened it this morning, I was very surprised to see…..me. That’s me next to the mitts/gloves. Her site is http://www.KnittingTraditions.com.
Quickie Mug Mats
April 20, 2015I bought some fabric panels that were on sale. I didn’t know what I was going to do with them, but, they were on sale. Then came shedding season. I could tell which cat liked which chair by looking at the color of fur on it. I had two of three different panels so I made quickie chair mats.
I like this one so much that I put it on my kitchen island. This panel also had six squares along the top, so I made mug mats. They didn’t take anytime to make. Sometimes I need a no-brainer.
