3/4ths a Headache

December 14, 2010

I don’t have half a headache or a whole headache.  It’s definitely 3/4ths.  Once again my sinuses are full of green goop that I could use to seal any cracks that there might be in the concrete.  It has put me in the loveliest of moods.  So after a couple of weeks of this, I called the GP for an appointment for tomorrow.  I had all ready decided that it was time to do some shopping.  I was hoping that the smow flurries would keep some people home.  I probably should have stayed home and called that radiology place in PA (the x-ray was done locally) and explain to them that they charged my insurance twice and I am not about to pay them $7 just because they are idiots and can’t read.  Going shopping and being nice to sales people seemed like more of a challenge.

I headed over to Rehoboth and the outlets.  I thought about the yarn shop there and then remembered that I have been there twice and never bought anything.  When I go to a yarn shop, I like to buy something, especially around here.  They are too few and far between.  Both times I could find nothing that I was the least bit interested in.  I decided not to try again.  I didn’t want to get depressed too.

My first stop was the Fossil store.  I hate this place.  I always buy something.  And they had several great looking handbags at half price.  All I wanted was a wallet for my daughter.  I found a wallet, wristlet and coin purse in red leather with little circles sewn on them so I got all three.  I also bought two handbags.  I’ll probably give her one for her birthday.  It’s in February and who wants to shop then.

Next, I stopped at a gift shop that always has lots of unique things.  I didn’t have much luck this year and I only found a Christmas ornament and a pin.  By this time, I was getting hungry and I really had to pee.   I stopped at a place that had a nice restroom so I figured I might as well eat there, too.  I got a chicken BLT.  It wasn’t bad, but everything was piled in the middle and I had to rearrange it.  It also had cheese and pickles on it which I thought was strange.  The pickles were really good which was a surprise.  I ate them separately.  The tomatoes had to be removed.  I think they were made out of styrofoam.  You’d think I would learn after all these years.  They also had good coleslaw so I forgave them for the other stuff.

Here’s my third shawl.  I put that pattern to good use.  I have decided to make a hat and gloves to go with my stars sweater next.  I have a lot of the yellow left.  Maybe I’ll make a scarf, too.  I don’t know.  Scarves can get boring.

We Had Fun

November 12, 2009

Jenn and I went up to PA today.  It rained off and on and it was cooler, but we still had a good time.  We bought lots of great food, had a very nice lunch and found neat stuff at the thrift shop.  What more is there?

New Purse

November 6, 2009

I couldn’t help myself.  Doug wanted to get new Reebok.  There is one style that he really likes so we went to the outlets by Rehoboth.  He bought two pairs.  I went over to Fossil.  I was going to look at wallets, which I did, but I saw a beautiful purse that I had to have.  Also, I got 20% off.  I guess I’ll have to take a picture.  I also bought a pair of  Skechers and slippers at LL Bean.  I did a lot better than when I went to Vernon Powell last week.

Next, we went to BJs.  They had the yogurt I wanted, but not the dish detergent.  I bought a big bag of Honeycrisp apples so I’m happy.  When we got home, Doug ate two pieces of raisin bread so I had one, too.  I wound up making pot stickers and mixed vegetables for supper.

Shopping in Dover

March 27, 2009

I’m glad I went.  I bought the couching foot, some embroidery thread(oranges and purples), a Fassett embroidery CD(75% off) and some poufy stabilizer.  I like to try different things.  Then I bought fabric.  I had a good time.

I went over to Boscov’s and bought a few kitchen type things.  I’ve been looking at new pots on line so I thought I’d check what’s in the stores.   It was a waste of time.  I did get a neat plastic bowl to put my sewing junk in that I keep by my cutting table so it wasn’t a total lose.  This is what I found when I got home.

Happy Day After Christmas

December 26, 2008

There was some stuff on sale for my sewing machine that I wanted to try.  I had been reading about them in the Yahoo group.  Well, I still wasn’t satisfied after a demonstration so I bought nothing.  To make matters worse, the farmers market wasn’t open so the whole trip was a bust.

So I came back and took a bath.  I do like that big old bathtub.  I told Doug he could take it down to the other house.  He just looked at me funny.  What did I say?

Later, we went to Petsmart.  I got old cat cat chow for Elvis and anew toy and some kitty treats for Biscuit.

This computer is acting weird so I will close.

It went fairly well.   There are a couple of things I still need to get, but I know what they are.  Jenn is pretty well set, also.  I will be heading back tomorrow.

Christmas Shopping

November 30, 2008

I’m going back to Reisterstown for a few days.  Jenn and I are going Christmas shopping.  It’s been raining all day which doesn’t thrill me at all.  See You.

I rode over to LL Bean near Rehboth Beach this afternoon.  I could use some new turtlenecks, but I didn’t have any luck.  All they had in my size was blue.  Not only is it not my favorite color, I already have two.  They didn’t have any in my daughter’s size either.  They were all regular, no talls.  She not all that tall.  She has a long body like me.  At least she doesn’t have my short legs.

I found dishes with pine cones on them for Paul and Linda.  Linda has decorated her kitchen with them.  This set has four mugs, four bowls, four dinner plates and four luncheon plates.  I don’t know about Paul, but Linda will love them.  Paul may be sick of pine cones for all I know.  But I do let him play with my cats.

I also bought one of those cutesy fire starter kits for my son-in-law.  I never know what to give him anyway.

I got this kit at a shop in Lewes.  I don’t know yet whether I am going to give it as is or make it for someone.  Since the shop in about half a block from the ocean, I drove down there to have a look.  It was very windy with big waves.  I wouldn’t have gotten in if it was ninety degrees, but there were some people sitting on the beach.  Me?  I didn’t even get out  of the car.

Jenn and I had lunch in Intercourse PA today.  We had just finished shopping except for the meat.  The thrift shop was closed due to renovations so we checked a couple of different shops.  I bought some apples for pies and a bunch of other stuff that you can’t find elsewhere.  As a matter of fact, I’m munching on some flat pretzels now.

On the way home, we stopped and picked up the kitten.  She’s hiding in the back parlor so I put some water and

chow in there and a little blanket in a dark corner.  There is all ready a potty in there.  Win’s cat has no idea what she is.

When she saw her, she ran back upstairs.  I’m going to call her Olive.
