Better Today

The kinks weren’t as bad today, so I started washing all the fabric that I have been gathering.  I knew I had a little Christmas guilt kit somewhere.  It seemed like a good time to make it.  There were a lot of tiny pieces that I washed by hand.  I figured I might as well dig out everything I had that hadn’t been washed.  I don’t like the way fabric smells until it’s washed.  I had a friend who never prewashed.  Going into her sewing room gave me a headache.  By the time I got it all together, I had two big loads.  This is what happens when you only work on one thing for five months.  I mean, you’re still buying.  Right?

Here is the dark load.  It consists of two servicemen quilts, two or three nightgowns and at least one Christmas gift.  See the scum on the water?  It happens every Autumn.  It’s from dying plants and other things that I don’t want to think about.

That is a lot of fabric!!! Umm…you have a lot of sewing ahead of you. LOL! By the way, how is Elvis doing? I don’t like the smell of new fabric either. We were taught in Home Economics to wash the fabric before sewing so I always have. Hope the kinks are gone tomorrow.
