Up a Creek in Lower Slower Delaware

It always amazes me when I look at this cactus.  It gets the sun most of the day and the irrigation system doesn’t come this close to the road.  We don’t do a thing with it.  When I lived in California, many homes had cactus.  I never expected to see it around here, but I have since seen it in a few other yards around here. 

My sock club came.  As you can see, it is not my favorite color, but the socks will look good with jeans.  I like the pattern better, too.  Again, it was printed with a matrix dot printer so I went ahead and made a copy before I spill orange juice on it.  It’s Anne yarn from Schaeffer Yarn which I have used before to make a shawl in the old shale pattern.  It really is nice yarn and I know it will make my feet happy.  I think I figured out why I don’t like blue.  I look like my mother when I am wearing it.  It’s scary.
