I’m Really Tired

I am not used to having to do all this thinking. I am so glad all the forms are signed, sealed and ready to be delivered. When we told the Powers That Be to take out Delaware taxes, we assumed they would stop taking out Maryland taxes. Oh, ye of little faith. So I had to apply for a refund by filling out more forms. You can’t just drop them a line and say, “Hey! I haven’t lived there for nearly two years. Give me my d**n money back.” At least I don’t have to do it by hand anymore. You wouldn’t be able to come within two feet of me. I bite. Ask my husband.

Time to go.

I think the tax system in the USA must be way more complicated than here. I can remember my dad doing the taxes. It was a traumatic time for the whole family. He would bite as well if you got too close to him. I remember the table being full of documents. I remember him arguing with invisible people. We walked around on tip toe. We were a single income family. I can’t imagine what it would have been like if he owned his own business or something.

It will take John about an hour to do out taxes. He does them on-line using a program that he buys every year called quick tax. It is quick and easy. He has very few papers around him. The kids will come over and use the program too so we get our moneys worth out of it. No trauma.
