Happy to Be Home

stuff from nancyLook at what was waiting for me when I got back.  I love getting books.  This one has a spiral inside which is great for instructional books.  I’ve had spirals put on several of my knitting books.  You can get it done for about two dollars at office supply stores which is a godsend when you are trying to knit and read or sew and read at the same time.

The pictures are great with full size guilt squares.  Each one has a little story.   The magazine has an article about some of the lakes in Acadia National Park.  That’s where we first met when we 8 and 9 years old.  Nancy moved toPheonix, AZ in high school and still lives there.pins from nancy  I wasn’t sure if you could see the pins very well so here’s another picture.  She said the one is made by the Navajos.  I really like them both.  I must have a couple hundred pins.  You can’t have too many pins.  Thanks so much.  orange crush

Here’s my quilt laid out on the living room carpet.  I am starting to sew it together.  I’ll sew all but the center seam elvis quiltand two corners and lay it out on our bed.  Then I’ll have a better idea as to whether I need to make it any bigger or not.  I had no idea that sewing stupid little squares and triangles of fabric together could be so much fun.

And in case anyone was wondering about him, here’s a picture of that old man holding down my quilt blocks.
